Community Care Team

Our mission is to provide hope and caring so that no member or friend of our Fellowship need be alone. This mission is based on the Unitarian Universalist principle to affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We offer emotional and logistical support for our members and friends by:
- Providing practical assistance in times of need (transportation, meals, respite)
- Visiting the ill at home or in the hospital
- Comforting the bereaved
- Maintaining contact with those unable to attend due to illness or disability
- Supporting those going through a life crisis
- Linking members in need with community services that may be of help
The role of the care team is to ask the involved individual or family how we can be of assistance and then to provide the requested assistance within the limits of our resources.
Protection of members’ privacy is of the upmost importance. Permission must be gained directly from the involved member or family before personal information is shared with the Care Team or any Fellowship member.
Care Team activities are coordinated by three Team Coordinators whose role is to organize support activities to assure needs are met and to avoid confusion or duplication of effort.
Any Fellowship member who provides logistical or emotional support for another member through the Fellowship’s coordinated efforts is a member of the Community Care Team.
