This Coming Wednesday

UPDATE on Wednesday Night Dinners:  As we enter this busy holiday season, our Wednesday night dinners will be on hiatus at least through the end of the year.  In January the Program Council will determine whether and how these dinners might be reorganized in a way to ensure a consistent supply of volunteers for set-up, cooking/serving, and clean-up.  Do our members want to continue this Wednesday tradition of a shared meal, and if so, how might we work together to make that happen?  In the meantime, there are upcoming opportunities to share food, fun, and fellowship together!  The Membership and Growth team will be introducing a series of dinners for us to create deeper connections with a diverse group of members and friends (called “Soulful Suppers”), and we’ll hold our annual Harvest Festival potluck at noon on Sunday November 20.

To be a community of healing requires dedication and a willingness to dig in – to fix what’s been broken, to listen away each other’s pain, to battle the bad guys and gals, to ask forgiveness when we are not the good neighbors & siblings we so want to be. So yes, it is easy to remember that it takes work.  But what if we just as easily remembered that it takes perception and sight as well? Or to be more exact, what if we remembered that healing always begins with perception and sight?
